Infographic research

An infographic is used to express information creatively and visually through graphics, giving the consumer a more pleasurable and entertaining method of taking in the content. I started to do research into the designs and layouts of infographics by looking on google images at random designs, I was hoping to establish a trend in style, for example a popular colour scheme. There was a diverse range of styles and layouts on certain infographics , all of which were proportioned and displayed neatly and precisely. Some infographics contained minimal information using just visuals to express their point. For example this anti smoking infographic below caught my eye as it displays a strong message and although some statistics are used in the poster you don’t have to acknowledge it to understand what message it portrays. The other infographic was appealing to me as it shows a timeline effect , for your train of thought to follow through,  I hope to use a cycle like this in my own poster. From looking at examples I hope to incorporate some elements from both into my own. I have decided to aim my infographic at children aged 9-12, so using cartoony and funky aspects is something I will include.
