Le Barbe Magnifique Leaflet

This is my Le Barbe Magnifique leaflet consisting of a front/back cover and three main pages, the leaflet has a sleek and traditional look which was essential when keeping the continuity of style. I have carried the black and red borders over to the leaflet making use of the outer space of the pages also relating to the look of the business cards maintaining the theme. For the front cover I have used my main logo but repositioned it rotating it to a 90 degree angle as I felt it suited the page layout from this perspective, this change also allowed me to play around with the typeface as I have also re-adjusted it displaying the “Le Barbe” text at the top and the ” Magnifique” text at the bottom below the logo. By placing the font in this way it has put emphasis on the main logo , establishing it as the centre piece on the front cover. I wanted to experiment with space and at times keep a relatively simple layout , so for the first page I have simply included the title , enlarging the font and positioning it at the centre of the page, it has given the page a bold look and a large amount of white space which surprisingly gives it an aesthetically pleasing look. The second page I have used columns  to use up space effectively , I have incorporated a black and white image onto the top section of the page, I have used B&W images throughout the leaflet as they create a retro and vintage theme. Also I have included my mini scissor logo onto the page alongside the text as it corresponds well with the surrounding features. On the third page I have again used a B&W image and placed the text in a column format in a white box covering part of the image . I have included the “Our legacy” title over the image to create a different perspective also changing the font colour to white. Finally on the back cover I have created a pattern by duplicating a pair of scissors, I have also added red scissors along the border portraying it being cut to give it a comical and pleasant look. The back cover also includes a white box containing the brand title and the address\postcode.

Hair Wax product

Here is the final version of my product where I have decided to create a hair wax pot, whilst designing the product it was key to keep within the theme, which was first achieved by using my previously distinguished colour scheme but also keeping the design features in correspondence to my logo.  I have used twirl style lines on the face of the product which also links in with the features of my logo once placed alongside it , in addition I decided to included my more simple secondary scissor logo onto the side of the product , I feel incorporating this onto the design increases the visual appeal of that specific element on the product. As it is easy to identify at a small scale and ties in well with the surrounding features also adding more detail to the section. Finally I included the sub text “American typewriter regular” which links in well with the entirety of the design , I will also be using it as text on my leaflet as my main typeface is too complex and difficult to read at a small scale.

Business cards

These are my final business cards showcasing both the front and back designs , for the business cards I have incorporated red and black borders giving them a traditional and professional look. I used my main logo on the front using the “little ricky” font  keeping the design simple and clean, on the back I’ve featured my sub logo which corresponds well with the front design. On the back I have used my second font “American typewriter regular” which clearly displays the information, also including the borders I used on the font to keep within the style/theme.

Creating my logo

Using illustrator I have been able to convert my logo idea into a digital form, I have made hardly any changes to the original first draft the only notable difference are the red stripes i have included representing the iconic barber pole, emphasising the logos purpose. Along with the logo I have added my previously allocated typeface I found on dafont called “little ricky” which corresponds well with the logo, giving it a stylish and authentic look. Since creating the logo I have established my primary colours for the re-brand to consist of red, white and black which will be incorporated throughout. As you can see the logo embodies the features of a Swiss army knife , my main inspiration for the design.
